We’ve mentioned before in other case studies how rewarding customer recommendations are and the following one from Sheffield’s Country Fresh Foods (CFF) is no different. 

Worksop based Laser Cladding Technology - the largest laser cladding provider in the UK were surprisingly limited when it came to their marketing activities. In many ways, this was a strength as the company was continually busy and growing with a full order book. However, they wanted to focus their marketing on new sectors so that they could confidently develop the business and invest in new technology.

This is where Chameleon came in. Laser Cladding is probably as niche as it gets. It isn't something that every business requires and its a very expensive process for those that do, for example the Oil and Gas industry.

Now is not the time to explain the process of Laser Cladding but used on the right tooling in the right environment, it can out last pretty much anything and therefore the investment speaks for itself. That said, the marketing dilemma is - how to get sales and technical information in front of the right target market using methods that will be appreciated and responded too.

It’s safe to say this particular client and marketing project was not going to be easy. Thankfully, the team at LCT are extremely knowledgable about the world of Laser Cladding and we like to think we are equal in our world of creativity and marketing, so both parties could benefit by working closely together.

As with all marketing plans, you have to start somewhere and develop a strategy that will work. This can be drawn down by years of experience using tried and tested marketing methods but one has to remember that every client is different and certain industries require extensive research - and Laser Cladding was this type of client.

Once Chameleon had got a handle on the marketing environment we set to work preparing a robust plan of attack for Laser Cladding Technology. This was going to consist of a new company website integrating our own content management system to enable to the team at LCT to keep the site fresh and up to date. In addition to this, search engine optimisation and good content was going to help the website rank organically, so that was also on the list. Sales and technical literature was designed and printed, specific to each sector and to top it off an email marketing campaign targeted to Senior Engineers.

We enjoy an on-going relationship with Laser Cladding to this day and in recent months have worked on a variety of exhibition displays and graphics to help them continue to promote themselves and Stand Out from the competition.
