A recommendation is one of the most rewarding experiences in business as it just goes to show that you're doing a great job when existing clients are willing to recommend your business and services to others alike.


That’s just what happened in December 16, when we made contact with W.E Pinder & Son a local, well established Funeral Directors that has been trading in Bawtry, Doncaster since 1914.


Unbeknown to us, John Pinder had been busy Googling ‘web design Doncaster’, ‘graphic design Doncaster’ and ‘marketing agencies Doncaster’ hoping to try to find a suitable creative partner for his intended project. Now John by his own admission is no technical wiz-kid when it comes to marketing and web design. He has also experienced in the past the Funeral Services sector can be seen as a soft-touch and certain lesser quality suppliers often over-charge and over-complicate services such as web design and graphic design if only to earn an extra buck or two.


With this in mind, John turned to a fellow colleague of the same industry Brian Butterfield of C T Butterfield & Sons - Rotherham, a client of Chameleon’s since 2014 and thanks to Brian - his recommendation kick started a new marketing project for both Chameleon and Pinders.


During our first meeting, John explained the history behind Pinders and their association in Doncaster and surrounding areas. He expressed his desire to modernise the company branding and online marketing. The current website and brand was very tired, in fact, rather typical of a well established Doncaster business within this sector that had not given it a second thought for quite a few years.


It was agreed that a new branding design for Doncaster W. E. Pinder would be created and once the concept was approved, we would progress with a new website design.

As you will see from the images to the right, Chameleon adopted a vintage 1940’s theme with a contemporary twist. John had expressed his liking for such a concept so that enabled us to focus purely on a selection of branding and logo designs and by doing so, keeping the graphic design costs within budget.


Once the branding design was approved, the next stage was to take this concept into a new website design. John was keen to keep the same menu structure and content as his existing website for two reasons - speed and affordability. This often helps speed up the going live process for Chameleon as in some cases preparing new content and images can be the element that takes time to finalise with a new client.


This proved to be a good decision as within 2 weeks, the new website was designed, developed with a custom content management system and ready to go live. 


A suite of new stationery quickly followed, keeping the brand consistent throughout all forms of marketing communications - and we are soon to commence with a new folder design and print later this month.


All in all, what started out as a little word in the right direction lead to a successful marketing project - a new client for Chameleon a reliable marketing partner for W.E. Pinder & Son.
