A customer recommendation is possibly the most positive way of gaining new business and that is what happened when Mansfield based Forward Protective Coatings (FPC) contacted Chameleon in 2014.

FPC’s M.D. Peter Everington had been scrolling the internet in search for a Mansfield Web Design Agency that could develop a new affordable website for the business. After becoming disillusioned with it all, he turned to a fellow customer for help and advice and fortunately for Chameleon the recommendation from a long standing mutual client was favourable.

It was evident when meeting Peter that FPC’s internet presence was extremely weak. Their current website had been developed many years prior and online enquires were non-existent. With a business and domain name that included ‘protective coatings’ one would expect that to assist in a positive ranking but as we explained to Peter, there was zero search engine optimisation within their current website - the pages were simply jpegs and therefore Google could not read or extract content. In addition to this, basics such as ‘page titles’ were also missing so these things together pretty much defined why FPC did not experience business enquiries via the internet.

Now the usual question…“how much is a website going to cost me” asked Peter. We must get asked this several times a week and the default answer could be “how long is a piece of string” - but of course we don’t say it like that. The plan is to discuss each clients requirements to asses what their business requires and if willing, what their budget is.

Not every company values a website the same, some are willing to spend several thousands of pounds to ensure their B2B marketing is strong on a large scale - however, many small to medium sized business similar to FPC have a lesser budget but still require value and output from their investment.

Once we had gathered all of the information we required, we set to work on devising an affordable website plan for FPC that included most of Peter’s wish-list. The plan and budget was approved, designs were created and signed off and work commenced to develop the new CMS (content management system) website for FPC - did we mention we also titivated the FPC logo too, free of charge - just for good measure.

The final website is a success, it continues to put Fire Protective Coatings on the Mansfield map for its key services as well as North Nottinghamshire and FPC now receive over a thousand website visits per month and regular online enquires.
